From her experience as a litigation attorney working with a large in-house legal department and prior law firms, Ana understands that timely response and reactions are vital to her clients’ success. She is quick to come up with a strategy for any issue that comes up and present it to her clients, so they are informed of their best options and manage their risk exposure accordingly. After an initial strategy is established and agreed upon with the client, Ana will leave nothing to chance and will explore every strength and weakness of the case.
Sometimes the case calls for an aggressive litigation strategy; on other occasions, the client will be best protected by pursuing more amicable solutions. Whatever strategy the case calls for, the client’s interests come first.
In litigation, her guiding principles are timing, credibility, knowledge of the case and good storytelling. Ana understands that effective interactions with decision makers such as judges and juries are based on many factors, including personal interactions. “Decision-makers have some discretion to apply the law and always want to know what’s the end-game and they want to be fair. They want to know not only what the law says but why they should take your client’s side.” That is the reason why Ana is always careful to develop a genuine compelling story for her clients and emphasizes effective presentation. Nothing can be overlooked. Details matter.
Opposing counsel can expect someone who enjoys tough competition; teammates can expect utmost loyalty and a willing helper.
In her free time, Ana enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. She often provides pro-bono help to people who need but cannot afford legal services. “My inspiration to become a lawyer comes from my grandfather, a lawyer, who always had people coming to him for help. That is a tradition I like to honor.”
