Megan McKennon

Practice Areas

  • Commercial/Business Litigation
  • Construction Litigation

While she admits a career in law can be challenging, Megan’s always been ready to meet those challenges head on. Megan credits her mother for her strong work ethic. As a single mother of two, she showed her how to be caring and tough, which is exactly how Megan approaches her job. Her mother was also an attorney, and while following in her footsteps was never a sure thing, the siren’s song of law school proved too hard to resist, and Megan enrolled at SMU. Since graduating, she’s begun practicing commercial, business, and construction litigation.

Despite being a cheerleader in college, Megan found she was still shy around people she didn’t know very well. But she figured out a way to use that to her advantage. She made it a point to press on and get to know new acquaintances. Today, she uses that self-taught skill in her law practice, taking the time to get to know a new client and understand their needs and objectives. Megan’s pro bono work with the economically disadvantaged through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program is another instance where she leans in and becomes immersed in new situations. Whatever the case, taking on challenges and forging new relationships has become a favorite part of her role as an attorney.

Megan is originally from Austin, and in her free time enjoys spending time exploring Dallas with her Fiancé as well as her maltipoo.
